The requirements of Section 690.12 "Rapid Shutdown on PV Systems on Buildings" in the 2014 NEC represent a substantial change from NEC 2011, and proposed changes announced April 10, 2015, for NEC 2017 will prove to be a significant departure from NEC 2014:
